Powerful, Flexible Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS)

Businesses face numerous challenges towards managing their data, building accurate analysis, and driving real actionable processes. These businesses traditionally have had to make a choice: create yet another expensive IT infrastructure to support these situational applications or leave the applications up to the individual business unit to find their way with spreadsheets and databases. One is a daunting, long-term approach that can be months in the making. The other is completely chaotic with no management visibility. And either way, the information becomes a silo, hindering all future integration efforts.

The Application Platform as a Service

The LongJump.com On-Demand Business Application Platform runs as a hosted service and enables you to build applications directly on the web – situational applications that are easy-to-create, easy-to-maintain, data-driven, and help consolidate a variety of information and processes to manage specific aspects of a business or organization. LongJump is so easy, any one in the business team with strong spreadsheet skills can create applications without writing a single line of code.

Rather than spending time and resources on building out a new infrastructure or adapting an old one to solve new operation problems, LongJump's PaaS solution enables business and IT to focus on information and innovation, not infrastructure. With the growing variety of PaaS solutions emerging in today's market, there are many options for businesses to execute projects to meet their goals. The key is: which PaaS solutions offer the best head-start to creating applications?

With LongJump, IT and business units have a robust, pre-built application framework that eliminates:

  • Provisioning, deploying, and managing servers and equipment for always-on availability and security

  • Building and administering relational databases

  • Adding layers of user administration and permissions management

  • Designing user interfaces and productivity enhancements

  • Creating or linking to reporting tools

Define data model

Organizing information into structured data is the fundamental step in creating most applications on LongJump. One way to think about data modeling is that columns in your spreadsheet are field attributes, rows are records, and referenced data is another object. Using LongJump, you can quickly design a data model on the web by using the browser interface to create objects, manipulate fields and relate information.

Automate processes

Once the data model is created, LongJump enables you to add additional processing to information that executes when data is added, changed, or scheduled. This enables you to specify information that triggers other actions to take place such as validating information, executing a workflow, sending an email, changing data, or some custom Java process.

Create reports

The built-in view and report designer provides a sophisticated, yet simple wizard to for users to create and manage their own reports. LongJump also enables multiple data sets to be filtered across tables or joined to form additional reporting schema. Once a report is created, users can add them to their dashboards for easy visibility into operational status.

Extend applications

Each of the steps described above do not require any coding. However, when more complex or comprehensive customization is needed, LongJump provides a suite of developer tools to handle forms, manipulate data, run custom processes or actions, or even write native user interface elements. All tools are standard Java or Javascript syntax so there is no new language to learn.

Reliable, Proven, Secure

From our hosted systems that meet SAS 70 Type II compliance to an industry-standard, Java-based, multitenant architecture, LongJump provides a comprehensive, robust platform geared to support a variety of application needs.

LongJump data and servers are hosted at a state-of-the-art data center, managed by the team at Rackspace. You get peace of mind from:
